NAD VISO TWO & FIVE: Sculptural High-Performance AV Systems

When NAD Electronics set out to evolve its high-performance AV systems, the brief to DF-ID was clear: embody NAD’s legacy design DNA and push it forward through a precise fusion of material, structure, and emotion.

The resulting NAD VISO TWO & FIVE systems follow a “form follows fabrication” approach from first sketch through to production. Working closely with NAD’s engineering team and manufacturing partners in Asia, DF-ID developed a singular aluminum extrusion that forms both the top and front panel, then refined it through CNC machining to stay faithful to the original fluid design intent. The chassis reads as a continuous, sculpted volume rather than a collection of assembled parts.

The visual language of VISO balances sculptural precision and refined elegance, giving these components a calm but undeniable presence in the living space. As NAD’s Director of Product Development, Greg Stidsen, noted, VISO TWO & FIVE are “as much about industrial design as about state-of-the-art audio and video performance”—products whose design demands attention even before they’re powered on.
